The sire of this colt, Malibu Moon, is one of the great success stories in thoroughbred breeding. He retired as a racehorse with a rather modest record, but with one of the best pedigrees in the world. Once retired and put to stud, he has become one of the top stallions in Kentucky. He has sired a Breeders Cup winner as well as an Eclipse Award winning Champion. Malibu Moon's sire, A.P. Indy, is possibly the greatest living stallion. A.P. Indy has sired over one hundred stakes winners with earnings of over ninety million dollars. Mailbu Moon carries the blood of both Secretariat and Seattle Slew through his sire, A.P. Indy. Mr. Prospector is Malibu Moon's maternal grandsire.
The dam of this colt, Waltzing With Deb, is herself a winning daughter of a stakes winning mare. Waltzing With Deb is the dam of Wild Horses, one of Peachtree Stable's Kentucky Derby horses.
